Patrick Robin is a talented and creative designer, developer and all round nice bloke who occasionally talks about himself in the third person.

Professional Career

Since the age of 16, almost twenty years ago, I have been working with computers in one form or another and what started out as dabbling with basic web development on some free web space from my ISP soon developed in to a full time occupation designing, developing and deploying websites and the systems that run behind them.

At the start of my career I was primarily focused on the emerging online gaming market working for Multiplayer Zone Ltd developing their website and maintinaing an array of Windows 2000 based game servers. From there I started the company Dented Ltd along with Mike Way so that we could bring to market some of the technology that we had created for game server booking and management. Whilst at Dented we worked closely with One.Tel, a UK based ISP that is now part of Talk Talk, where we partnered with them to create a premium web portal for their subscribers providing gaming services along side premium content from providers such as MTV.

In the present day I work for the IT department of Southampton University as a professional specialist and I'm currently one of two developers involved in deploying a SharePoint 2010 based solution to our 35,000 staff and students.

Personal Life

Back in 1996 my parents convinced me that a classic VW 1300 would make a great first car and so through my formative years I could be seen driving round in a hand painted blue 1972 Beetle. Whilst the Beetle has since succumbed to the dreaded tin worm I now own a gorgeous 1966 Karmann Ghia and a fantastic 1971 Camper Van that my wife and I try to use as much as possible.

Despite being banned from the school choir at the age of six I like to think that I'm a bit musical so if I'm not working on a website or trying to finish one of my mobile applications I can often be found annoting the neighbours on my drum kit or strumming quietly on the guitar or ukulele!
